Our Mission

Our mission is to conduct geophysical research and provide in-depth and hands-on geophysical training

Research

·         Conduct research on rock properties with ultrasonic measurements in the lab.

·         Research and develop examples and illustrations covering topics in survey design, AVO and attributes, and 3-D for use in guidance and training.

  • To conduct geophysical research including acoustic experiments:

ü       Measure rock properties

ü       Demonstrate geophysical principles

ü       Measure rock properties as a service to the geophysical industry

Training

Teaching and learning geophysics.

The material for this training is covered in three separate public or in-house courses of one week duration each. In this training, each course is a two week workshops to allow the instructor to guide each participant individually, and the participant to conduct in-depth study of each topic. The instructor will outline the topics and the steps to guide each participant throughout the workshop.

Note: For additional examples, we recommend that Participants bring their own data or problems in hardcopy or cd/dvd form to work with. Digital seismic data must be in SEGY format.

  • To provide comprehensive guidance and training in seismic:

ü       Survey Design

ü       Data Acquisition

ü       Processing

ü       AVO & AVA

ü       Attributes including inversion and frequency decomposition

ü       3-D

·         Instructor will guide each participant on all topics during the course, to understand each topic, and conduct in-depth study and analysis

ü       Review the topic in the manual provided

ü       Research outlined topics in Geophysics, Leading Edge, and other publications provided

ü       Carry out exercises, and develop illustrations to demonstrate perception of each topic using MS Excel, MS Word, Mathsoft’s Mathcad, and other software packages provided including our Geochrome software.

ü       Each participant will conduct the study of each topic to a level equivalent to his/her desire

ü       Each participant will enhance his/her skills in topics covered

ü       Minimum Achievement: Each participant will develop a summary on each topic using the manual and researched references, exercises and illustrations created

ü       Maximum Achievement: There is unlimited potential for maximum achievement, and determined by each participant

ü       Note: Each participant will be provided access to a computer and our library of publications in geophysics and related subjects.

Participants will receive

ü       Hard copy of the latest manual, exercises and answers

ü       All excel spreadsheets developed by the instructor

ü       All Mathcad documents developed by the instructor.

ü       All examples and illustrations created by the participants

ü       A certificate on satisfactory completion for each course

Duration and Timing

Each course is in two parts of 1-week duration. See course summaries for course contents
