Magnetic Modeling and Mapping

Description:

This training is hands-on by the participants with brief presentations by the instructor as outlined here. The participants will perform parallel tasks on their laptops with the instructor. Instructor will provide explanations on various aspects of this tool.

The instructor will demonstrate Magnetic modeling to generated 3-components (Vertical, Horizontal, and Total Intensity) for the following spherical shapes:

  Fault Cone Cone & Sphere Cone & Cylinder  Cylinder Triangular Prism Pentagon Prism Trapezoidal Prism Thin Rod Sphere

For each model, the participants will review input parameters, generated Excel profile charts, and maps for each of the three components. Save input data parameters as a database record and restore input parameters from a previous database record. The instructor will show how to export saved images and individual maps from saved SurferTM  files to Powerpoint presentation and to a Word document for writing reports.

Prerequisites:

Purchase and install of GSCM IGCTool, SurferTM 15(Golden Software). Microsoft Office Tools required are: Word, Excel, Access, and Powerpoint. Recommended computer equivalent to or better than ~2401 Mhz   x64-based PC    Physical Memory: 16,185 MB   Data storage available must be more than 100 GB on Internal/external hard disks
