This training is hands-on by the participants with brief presentations by the instructor as outlined here. The participants will perform parallel tasks on their laptops with the instructor. Instructor will provide explanations on various aspects of this tool.
The instructor will show how to use this tool and its applications in exploration geophysics and explain all methods and options available. This tool helps in understanding the seismic data acquisition footprints with the use of modeling, analysis, and removal of unwanted footprints. Discuss how it helps the processor/interpreter in QC processing of 3D data for AVO. Using this tool, the participants will model the acquisition footprints, scale factors and AVO. Subsequently, using this model data carryout a step by step analysis with
each method for footprint removal and AVO extraction in this tool resulting in comparison of extracted AVO and the actual AVO response. The instructor will show how to prepare seismic data for input as Excel worksheet. Participants will also perform a preliminary AVO modeling and analysis with results presented in Excel Worksheets, and work with optional use of scaling factors such as, spherical divergence, reflection transmission losses, and attenuation. Participants will save screen images as graphics files, export the saved images to Powerpoint presentation and to a word document for writing reports.Tasks:
